Choose Resource dialog box

This dialog box is accessible from multiple dialog boxes, as follows:

From the Define Resources dialog box, when moving a resource

Right-click on a resource in the resource tree on the left and select Move.

From the Properties dialog box - Resources page for shapes

Right-click the border of an activity shape and select Properties from the resulting menu. In the Shape Properties dialog box, go to the Resources page. Click the Add button if there is no resource assigned.

In the From drop-down list, select Specific Resource. If that value and a resource are already selected, click the "..." button to change the resource selection.

From the Properties dialog box - RACI page for shapes or diagrams

Choose the Resource information to create the appropriate RACI relationship. RACI assignments are limited to Labor-type resources, Organizations, or External Agents.

For a shape, if you are creating a Supported By relationship, you may choose any resource, including equipment or other resources.

From the Expression Builder when you click the PasteResourceIcon.bmp button

Use this dialog box to create a literal resource ID for a resource or a resource in a particular organization. The form of a resource ID is <resourcepath@organizationpath>, where resourcepath and organizationpath are optional. Most situations only need a resource, but if you have defined a resource attribute as a “Value per organization” (see Add New Attribute/Modify Attribute dialog box), you may need to choose both.

Select one or more organizations, resources, resource types to add to the expression. To multi-select items, hold the Shift key or the Ctrl key while you click to select. To choose a resource as used by a particular organization, expand the tree to the resource and select the organization from the list of organizations it is allocated to.

Minimal Path makes the returned name as short as possible and still be unique in the model. For example, if you have Organization/Finance/Accounting with Minimal Path selected, you get <Accounting>, assuming there is no other resource named Accounting in this model. It also controls the length of the path names of organizations in the tree.

Select this check box if readability of the expression is important. Otherwise, leave this check box clear if it is more important to avoid potential expression errors after you add or rename resources.
