Manage Custom Data Element Definitions

Custom data elements are fields of data, such as the cost to perform a step, that can be assigned a value as shown in the example in Custom Data Procedures. To define and manage your own Custom Data, use the following procedures:

Add a new custom data element

  1. On the Tools menu, choose Setup Custom Data.

  2. In the Setup Custom Data dialog box, click the New button and specify data.

Rename a custom data element

  1. On the Tools menu, choose Setup Custom Data.

  2. In the Setup Custom Data dialog box, select a custom data element and click the Rename button and enter the new name.

Create a new custom data element based on existing custom data

In the Setup Custom Data dialog box, select a custom data element and click the Duplicate button, then modify the new custom data element.

To duplicate an entire shape and its data elements, copy and paste the shape in the diagram.

Delete a custom data element

This deletes the custom data element from the document and all of its diagrams.

  1. On the Tools menu, choose Setup Custom Data.

  2. In the Setup Custom Data dialog box, select the element you want to delete in the Custom Data list, then click the Delete button.
