Enterprise Resource Links and Updates

You cannot change the names of resources and organizations attached to enterprise resources from the Define Resources dialog box.

When you work with attached resources, always ensure that the repository that contains the enterprise resources you want to work with is open in the Repository window, and that documents containing attached resources are checked out of the repository.

  1. On the Model toolbar, click the model_resources.bmp tool or, on the Model menu, choose Resources.

  2. The Define Resources dialog box appears.

  3. Choose a task in the table below and follow the corresponding procedure.

Attach an enterprise resource model to a document

  1. Click the Document Resources folder at the top of the Resources list.

  2. Click the Enterprise tab.

  3. If necessary, select an open repository from the drop-down list.

  4. Click the Attach button; then, in the resulting Attach dialog box, click OK.

Detach an enterprise resource model from a document
  1. Click the Document Resources folder at the top of the Resources list.

  2. Click the Enterprise tab.

  3. If necessary, select an open repository from the drop-down list.

  4. Click the Detach button; then, in the resulting Detach dialog box, click OK.

Update objects in an attached repository

  1. Click the Document Resources folder at the top of the Resources list.

  2. Click the Enterprise tab.

  3. Click the Update button. Then, in the resulting Update dialog box, click OK

    If the Update button is not visible, either the repository is not open or there have been no changes to it since it was attached.

Update local modifications to attached resources
  1. Click the Document Resources folder at the top of the Resources list.

  2. Click the Enterprise tab.

  3. Click the Update & Replace button. Then, in the resulting Update & Replace dialog box, click OK

    If the Update & Replace button is not visible, either the repository is not open or there have been no changes to the resources used in it since it was attached.
