Create Media Collections

Procedure

Create a private media collection

  1. On the Standard toolbar, click the shape_palette00001.bmp tool, or click the tab that displays the choosepaletteicon00002.bmp icon.

  2. In the Choose Palette dialog box, click the File menu and choose New Collection.

  3. Rename the New Collection folder and leave the folder selected.

Create a new subject

  1. On the Standard toolbar, click the shape_palette00003.bmp tool or click the blank tab in the Palette that displays the choosepaletteicon00004.bmp icon.

  2. In the Choose Palette dialog box, select the collection in which you want to create a new subject, and then click the File menu and choose New Subject.

  3. Rename the New Subject object and leave it selected.

  4. OK the Choose Shape Palette dialog box. The new Subject will be displayed in the Palette.

Add an item using drag-and-drop

  1. Ensure the media (a bitmap image, for example) that you want to bring into iGrafx is in the format you want and is accessible from the operating system (e.g. Windows Explorer).

  2. Open iGrafx and view a Private Media subject (palette) in the Shape Palettes window.

  3. Position the iGrafx window so that you can also see the file you are about to drag-and-drop.

  4. Select one or more compatible graphics files in the operating system.

  5. Drag and drop the files onto the Shape Palettes window.
