Schedules, Composite Schedules, and Overtime

Schedules define active and inactive periods. Only during active periods defined in the schedule can an activity process transactions, a resource be used by an activity, and a generator introduce transactions into a process.

Any inactive time is potential overtime, such as work assigned to a resource before and after the scheduled work shift. You can assign an overtime rate and a maximum amount of overtime that a resource can work. For example, a resource with a maximum overtime of zero can never work outside of its schedule. If the maximum overtime is two, the resource is eligible to work two hours a day during its inactive hours.
