Properties dialog box - General page
Right-click on an object and choose Properties. Or, with the object selected, on the Edit menu, choose Properties to open the Properties dialog box.
You can output the name and ID with Export Table (Graphical/Object Name). See Export Diagrams and Tables.

Description |

Name |
The name of the type of shape (or graphic), such as Activity or Decision. Changes made to the name of a shape apply only to that instance of the shape. |

Object ID |
System-generated ID number for the object. This number is read-only and is not the same as a shape number. |

Resize Proportionally |
The shape (or graphic) keeps its same relative proportions (dimensions) when grown bigger or smaller. |

Grow to Fit Text |
Resizes a shape as text is typed. |
|
Container Shape |
Group objects within a parent shape. Can be used to create an embedded subprocess. |

Allow Connecting Lines |
Allows lines to connect to the object. Automatically on for shapes. May be enabled for graphics, though the simulator will ignore lines connected to graphics. |

Show Indicators |
Provides control over whether indicators specified in the Indicators tab of the Format Diagram dialog box (from the Format menu, choose Diagram) show on this shape, swimlane, or graphic. |

Note |
Assigns a note to the activity. |
In a Basic diagram, some of these elements are not available.
