Try using these shortcuts to perform functions you use repeatedly in iGrafx:

Hold the Ctrl key when you are placing a line near an attachment point with Snap to Grid turned on to override automatic connection at an attachment point.
In Tabular View, Ctrl+Enter creates a new row for an activity.
To place shapes with keyboard shortcuts, you must first select the shape you will be placing shapes next to. You may then use the commands in the table below.

Add or Modify Properties in the Properties Dialog Box
Use any of these methods to open the Properties dialog box:
Select the object and use the Alt+Enter shortcut
Select the object and, on the Edit menu, choose Properties
Double-click the object
Right-click the object and choose Properties from the context menu
Note: If the Properties dialog box is already displayed, or displayed and docked, then simply clicking on (selecting) an object such as a shape, component in the Document Components window, or item in the repository will display its properties. You may use the forward and back buttons on the Properties dialog box to traverse objects you have previously displayed Properties for during your editing session.
