Publish as Web Page dialog box

Publish your iGrafx document (file) to a web format viewable with a web browser.

Element

Description

Publish to Folder

Choose the folder location that published files are stored in. Multiple files will be published.

Check the Components to Publish

Choose which components (e.g. Diagrams, Sheets, Scenarios, Reports) you want to publish from the All Components view, or choose another view from the drop-down menu to choose only Diagrams.

Use the All or None buttons to select all, or none of, the components. If you are viewing Diagram Hierarchy, and you check or clear a parent diagram, all of its children are checked or cleared. You can override this by holding the Shift key when clicking an item.

Output Shape Notes

Show shape notes in the published diagram.

  • For HTML output, notes are published like footnotes, below the diagram; and as a ToolTip if there are no links. Click the shape to see the note (other linked objects if there are links).

  • For Java output, published as yellow ToolTips; Mouse over the shape with a note to see the note.

Publish Linked iGrafx Documents

Publishes iGrafx documents that are linked-to from this document; making a local copy of the file in the publish folder. This only occurs if the linked-to file is in the same folder, or a sub-folder, as the iGrafx document.

Output Format section

Choose the output format and options for the publish:

  • Java: Output to a Java Applet (the person viewing the output must have Java loaded in their web browser for this format to work). Choose an output size in number of pixels. For Advanced options, please see the Publish as Web Page - Advanced dialog box topic.

  • Scalable Vector Graphics: Output to an XML-based output format that requires downloading and installing a free viewer from the iGrafx website. Choose output size in pixels and where navigation link tables appear on the web page.

  • HTML: Output diagrams as PNG compressed bitmaps accessed through HTML pages. Choose the following options:

  • Percentage size to scale the diagrams by (e.g. to make them smaller or bigger than actual size)

  • Whether to publish diagrams that would print as multiple pages as a single web page (or, before publishing, from the File menu, choose Page Setup and change the scaling to fit to 1 page by 1 page on the Page tab)

  • Where navigation link tables appear on the web page.
