About Start Points

A start point introduces transactions at an activity in the process. When you create a new cross functional process diagram, the default start point is a shape labeled Start that automatically appears as the first activity in a swimlane.

iGrafx creates and assigns a generator that introduces transactions into the process at this start point. You can create multiple start points and assign a generator to each one if you want to simulate the introduction of transactions from different locations at varying rates, for example. Each start point requires a generator to introduce transactions and must have a unique name to assign a generator.

You can move the start point to a different swimlane or location, or, like other shapes, you can change its text, shape, or activity data.
