Manipulate Graphics

After drawing a graphic, you can move it or resize it. You can also arrange and combine a series of graphics, and reshape a graphic using points and convert a graphic to a shape.

Click a graphic to select it before doing any of these procedures:

Add text to a graphic

Type the text.

Move a graphic

  1. Move the pointer to the gray hatched area surrounding the graphic.

  2. When the pointer changes to four arrows, click and drag graphic.

Duplicate a graphic

Follow the steps for moving a graphic, but hold the Ctrl key while dragging it.

Resize a graphic

Click and drag any of the black squares surrounding the graphic.

  • To resize the graphic proportionally outward from a common central anchor point, click any one of the corner squares and hold down the Shift key.

  • To resize the graphic proportionally, click any one of the middle squares on the top, bottom, or a side and hold down the Shift key.

Rotate a graphic

  1. On the Draw toolbar, click the rotate_tool.bmptool.

  2. Click one of the green circles on the graphic and drag to the desired angle.

Reshape a graphic

  1. On the Draw toolbar, click the edit_points_tool.bmp tool.

  2. Click and drag one of the white circles.

    Tools on the Reshape toolbar can help you edit the curve and add or remove reshape points.

Connect a graphic to a shape

  1. Move the pointer over the red square in the graphic until the pointer changes to a white arrow.

  2. Click and drag from the red square into the shape.

  3. Optionally, on the View menu, choose Hidden Lines to see the callout line.
