Monitors collect data, such as basic transaction statistics or the value of attributes, at certain points in a process.For example, you may monitor for the number of transactions that reach an activity. The activity containing the monitor is not included in the statistics gathered.
Add a Monitor statistic category report element to view monitor results in the Report window after simulation runs. (See Report Elements.)
Display the Monitors Window to complete the procedures in the following table. Choose one of these methods to display the Monitors tab:
On the Model menu, choose Monitors.
On the Model toolbar, click the tool.
In the Scenario window, double-click a monitor entry.
In the View menu, choose More Windows, and then choose Monitors.
Activities with monitors display a monitor icon by default.

On the Monitors tab, click the Add button. In the table, the Placed column for this entry contains the words not placed, meaning that this monitor is not placed at any activity. |

Simultaneously add and place one or more monitors |
In the table, the Placed column for this entry contains the name of the activity that you dropped in the Monitors tab. The monitor indicator also appears on the selected activity shape. You can change the display of the indicators using the Format Diagram dialog box. |
Create and place monitors at multiple activities |
Hold the Shift key while you click to select multiple activity shapes in the diagram, then drag and drop them in the Drop Activities Here to Create Monitors box in the Monitors tab. |
The name of the activity displays in the Placed column of the selected monitor entry to indicate that the monitor is placed at that activity. |

Place a monitor at multiple activities |

In the Monitors tab, select the monitor entry and click the Find button. The activity shapes for each of the activities at which the monitor is placed are highlighted. The monitor indicator also appears on each shape with a monitor. You can change the display of the indicators using the Format Diagram dialog box. |

Removing all placements of a monitor does not remove the monitor. You can still place it on other activities. |

In the table area on the Monitors tab, select a monitor entry and click the Delete button. This removes the definition and all placements of the selected monitor. |
