Use the Cause and Effect diagram template to analyze causes of problems in a process and their effects on the end results. A cause and effect diagram can help you document and visualize problems and potential problems in your process. Or you may model desired outcome (effect) and key factors (causes) to reach that outcome. It can also help you decide which causes should be looked at more closely.

The Cause and Effect diagram can include a Pareto chart that updates automatically when you edit the cause and effect diagram. From the Cause and Effect menu, choose Insert Pareto Chart.
