Add and Remove Secondary Text Areas

You can create a separate text field within a shape called a secondary text area.

Task

Procedure

Add secondary text area

  1. Click a shape or select multiple shapes and, on the Format menu, choose Text Layout.

  2. In the Format Text Layout dialog box, click the Add button.

  3. Click the position of the secondary text area (where you want to be able to add a separate text field within a shape).

  4. Adjust the size of the text area using the Size control below the preview window.

You can also format secondary areas in the Format Text Area dialog box by clicking Format under Selected Text Area.

Delete secondary text area

  1. Click a shape or select multiple shapes and, on the Format menu, choose Text Layout.

  2. In the Format Text Layout dialog box shape preview, click the secondary text area you want to remove, then click the Remove button.
