Password Protection on a Document

You can prevent other people from modifying any diagram in a document by assigning it a password. You may also independently restrict page setup header, footer, and watermark information and set a password to prevent anyone else from changing restricted items.

If you protect the entire document, and a diagram contains hidden data fields, they are hidden from view until the password is entered correctly. iGrafx uses the following cursor to indicate a protected document:

To restrict the entire document, on the Tools menu, choose Protect Document and enter the same password in the Password and Verify fields and OK the dialog box. To remove password protection, on the Tools menu, choose Unprotect Document, enter your password, and click OK.

To restrict editing of the header, footer, and watermark, on the File menu, choose Page Setup, click the Restrict tab, and check which items to restrict. To password protect the restriction, click Set Password, enter the same password in the Password and Verify fields, and OK the dialog box. To remove the password for the restriction, click the Remove Password button. The password will not take effect until the document is saved.

The iGrafx support team cannot help you recover lost passwords.
