Master Pages and Windows

Use a master page to display something on every diagram page like a notation or team members. Elements on a master page are only visible in Print Preview.

Task

Procedure

Create a master page

  1. On the File menu, choose Page Setup and click the Options tab.

  2. In the Pagination section, select Book Mode.

  3. On the View menu, choose Master Page, then add elements to the master page.

Tile, cascade, split, and freeze windows and window panes

Choose a command on the Window menu.

A brief summary of commands:

  • New Window: Create another window of the contents of the current window.

  • Tile Horizontally or Tile Vertically: Arrange each window in a separate non-overlapping area, or tile, of the workspace; with either the horizontal or vertical dimension being favored.

  • Cascade: Stack windows down and to the right in the workspace, partially offset from each other.

  • Split (or Remove Split): Create (or remove) initially identical window panes that you can scroll separately.

  • Freeze Panes: You must first split windows. Freeze the window split in place, so the scroll bars leave the view in the frozen window(s) in place. Choose Freeze Panes again to unfreeze the windows. Once panes are unfrozen, you can remove the window split.
